“ It would be difficult to survive in Astoria with mediocre anything. And this is why Nick's will be around for a long time. The deli selection leaves you questioning why you'd make any meal when you can go with their sides. I opted for a prosciutto and fresh mozzarella sandwich that was delicious. This is a small place, with stellar options for snacks or meals. The iced coffee was ok, but the food was a solid ten. ”
“ This place everything you want in a deli, it's clean, fresh, fast and delicious. I've been coming here for years and they never disappoint! ”
“ The food is good. I don't expect any of the workers to kiss my ass just because I walked through the door. I'm the type of person that doesn't really enjoy talking when I don't know people well so it could just be personal preference. I didn't really find anyone to be rude or off putting. Just don't be surprised when you walk in there and the staff aren't wearing masks AND EVEN WORSE IN MY OPINION the department of correction employees are not wearing masks. You work in a jail all day where COVID has ripped through multiple times and y'all have the audacity to come into a local neighborhood business with no masks on and spread your weirdo mouth germs, why? I walked in with a surgical mask but due to the aforementioned, I'll be walking in with my N95s from now on. ”
“ This is THE neighborhood spot for something quick and easy, smaller selection, but they have fresh OJ and a juicer for other stuff. It's good, friendly service, though maybe not very talkative since they're so busy. That said, when they have a little downtime, it turns out they're some of the nicest people around, especially if you see them on the sidewalk (super rare, but it does happen), even the shorter dude with the "mean" face. (Turns out he's a big soccer fan and is a gentle soul.) I mostly go for breakfast, the hot case offerings are decent, and the hot sandwiches have been pretty good. To be fair, I do have to agree with a comment about their hours of operation, they do start wrapping it up at about 300-330, but they also open super early. I've never been outside and seen them not open, 445am at least. ”
“ Didn't get to eat here, but they were super helpful and friendly when I needed (several) bags to help me carry some items down the street. 'Why is this helpful to me if I need a BEC', you ask? It's not, but know that they're friendly enough to help a duder out in need. They easily could've said no or charged me a bunch, etc. So, trust them to build you a nice sammy. Side note: place is super clean and looks better than 99% of corner deli's. Next time: BECs all around! ”
“ first time trying nicks , i was craving a nice honey turkey on a roll but after yelping this place i noticed everyone talking about hot pastrami on rye. IT WAS DELICIOUS! super moist. The only reason i didn't give 5 stars were because well i called and ordered in advance , the guy on the phone seemed super polite. when i got there it was a different vibe. like i said it was my first time , when i walked in the guy at the deli section said can i help you , i stated that i called and ordered and the guy at the register damn near yelled at me for speaking to the deli guy and says don't speak to him if ii already ordered cause i'll confuse him . there could've been a muchhh nicer way to say that -my thoughts. oh yea my swiss cheese was NOT MELTED ON MY "hot" pastrami btw - a hot pastrami cost $12.00, personally that's a little too much for me ”
“ My boyfriend and I were going on an 8 hour car ride and leaving super early in the morning. I wanted to look for a deli that's open so we wouldn't have to stop so much and eat fast food on the way up. I looked on yelp and found that this place opens at 5am! That was perfect for our time. I came in around 5:45 and there was actually other customers besides me. I decided to order breakfast and lunch. I like how I could get a lunch order even though it was so early in the morning. I decided to get a bagel and a chicken BLT but instead of mayo opted for ranch dressing which wasn't a problem at all. I had to wait a little bit but I ordered a decent amount of food so I didn't mind. The food was pretty good and standard deli. I would deff come back when I'm craving a good sandwich! ”
“ Great spot def need to stay open longer. The hours aRe brutal but overall great food in the neighborhood. Highly recommend ”
